Dr. Lauren Hanzlik


Dr. Hanzlik is dedicated to her practice and her patients, taking the time to evaluate, diagnose, and explain treatment options and procedures. She is highly skilled in dentoalveolar surgery, including wisdom teeth, dental implant placements, in-office anesthesia, treatment of facial trauma, care of pediatric patients, and orthognathic surgery, with a special interest in oral and maxillofacial pathology.

She has participated in mission projects both local and abroad, her most memorable of which was a mission trip in Gabon. Dr. Hanzlik has maintained the relationships built during those projects, and continues to provide academic assistance to the surgical residents there. She looks forward to returning to Gabon in the near future and to growing her local community involvement.

Dr. Hanzlik enjoys an active lifestyle which includes hot yoga, tennis, gardening, being with her dog, Bella, and escaping to the ocean whenever she can. She also loves watching NBA games – go Nuggets!

Dr. Hanzlik is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support.  She is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental Society, and Gamma Phi Beta.


Dr. Hanzlik grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. She attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology. She then proceeded to dental school at the University Of Maryland School Of Dentistry in Baltimore.

After earning her doctorate, she returned to Colorado to complete a post-graduate residency at the VA Hospital in Denver, and it was through this experience that she discovered her love for oral surgery. She moved to New York City to pursue an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, and then completed her four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center.

After graduating, Dr. Hanzlik treated patients at a successful practice in Indiana, but ultimately missed Colorado and has returned to Denver to call it home again.
